Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update 23/03/2020

Dear Member  /  Member’s Parent

Club Update as of 8am Monday March 23rd.

This update is made following guidance received from our governing body (LTA) and in accordance with latest government and chief medical officer updates and MUST be followed.

This is a balance between everyone’s health & safety and their wellbeing.

Further to our closing the club bar last week, the following is now closed with immediate effect.

The whole clubhouse  – meaning there is now no access to toilets, changing rooms, kitchen, floodlights, balls or First Aid.

The courts are still open for the time being, however, only if members follow the mandatory requirements set out below.

.  Please do not come to the club if you are unwell, or live/been in contact with someone who is unwell

Before entering the courts your own hand sanitizer must be used.  It must also be used on leaving the courts.

.  Social distancing of 2m has to be observed at all times.

.   Singles is preferable to doubles.

.  You must bring your own balls.

.  Do not change ends unless absolutely necessary i.e. the sun.  If necessary use opposite net post to your opponent/s and then remember the 2m social distance.

.  Courts 1, 3, 4 and 6 only are to be used.  If these 4 courts are already in use, please DO NOT stay and wait, but leave the club immediately.

.   Play is restricted to 1.5 hours maximum.

.   On finishing play please leave the club immediately.

Anyone not able to following these requirements is requested to not attend the club.

It is up to individual members whether they wish to play or not.  There is no organised social tennis.  Members play entirely at their own risk.

There is no group coaching.

Our courts remain open while members can adhere to our requirements and act responsibly.  However, failure to do this will mean the courts are closed for all members. The club will be checked regularly for the protection of all members.

When the guidance changes we will review this again.

I apologise that this is such a serious, stern message to you all, but unfortunately it has to be in light of public activity in outdoor spaces this past weekend.  Please, please, please everyone follow our requirements and the government advice and help keep each other safe.

Kind regards

Jane Collins for
