Our Junior AEGON Essex Team Tennis Winners!!!!!!!!!

Firstly, a huge congratulations to our Might Reds (U8) who were crowned “Division 3 Champions” on Saturday 18th June in their debut season, participating in the AEGON Essex Team Tennis Championships. It was their final match of the championships at home against main rivals, “The Basildon Bullets”. The league fittingly poised with both teams tied on points having played 4, won 4 the scene was set for a winner takes all clash…… as results started to trickle in, it was clear they would need to dig deep and in true competitive spirit, they held their nerve to run out 9-7 winners and take the crown.

U8s AEGON teamQuick note from the U8s Captain – Rob:

You all did so well and performed brilliantly throughout the championship. I am extremely proud and it was a pleasure to work with such good kids. It seems a long time ago that we started this process but all the hard work and commitment paid off, so well done Mighty Reds – Awesome !
Massive thanks to Team “Parents” (Kellie, Beccy, Rob, Richard, Steph, Janice, Hayley etc) who gave up their time for this. Huge thanks to  Ash “Coach” Baker who works so hard with all during training (Feel like I’m at the BAFTA’s !).
I hope you enjoyed the experience and you should all be very proud of yourselves.

And if that was not enough also on Saturday 18 June, in their 2nd Season In AEGON Team Tennis, our U16s A team boys won the 1st Division title! Congratulations to the team (Demi, Aidan, Hayden, Matt, Ethan and Alex) that all played and made the season win possible.

2016-06-18 15.38.37It went down to the wire to Saturday’s fixture against Chelmsfordians. After the 6 matches were played we were left with a draw. (Congratulations to Matt and Alex on winning all of their matches  on the day). We then had a Championship tiebreak with Aidan pairing with Matt. There was anxious watching from the Clubhouse as the boys were on the back courts, but they soon got into their stride and won the Championship tie-break 10 – 4. A long but totally great fixture!

Note from the U16s Captain – Karen:

Well done to all of our boys. Splendid playing against some difficult opposition. Also a big thank you to the parents for taxiing and preparing refreshments.

But mostly, so glad to see silverware for our juniors.

The future’s bright, the future’s Great Baddow!
